Brain microdecompression
Microdecompression is an operation that eliminates the cause of compression of the nerve roots of the spinal cord. During this operation, the surrounding tissues and the spine are minimally injured, thanks to the use of special microsurgical instruments and an operating microscope. After microdecompression, the pain syndrome disappears.
Indication
The main indication for microdecompression is spinal stenosis .
During surgery, a skin incision of about 3 cm is made, then an operating microscope is installed, thanks to which it is possible to examine the compression site and remove damaging factors:
- herniated intervertebral discs ,
- yellow ties,
- enlarged parts of the joints,
- thickened vertebral arches.
Consequences
After the surgery, an intradermal suture is applied to the skin. This surgery is effective for chronic pain that does not respond to conservative treatment.
Due to minimal tissue trauma, there are no rough scars, prolonged pain after the intervention, and a lasting effect is provided. After microdecompression, the patient spends 10-12 days in the hospital.
